The Chronicles of Araéna
| The Chronicles of Araéna are my first and largest venture. These are mostly complete, although it seems the editing process never ends. Without A Sword Hand and River in the Sky are preludes to the series, made up, so far, of War of Rakham, Messenger of Prophecy and Sword of Life. It looks now like Sword of Life will contain at least two more books. Working titles are Trainee of Big Canyon and On the Plains of Rakham. |
| The horse is injured beyond hope of recovery. But the horse is missing, and nobody's talking. A child is missing too, and nobody's talking about that either. Only one man knows, and nobody dares to ask him. There is murder in the air, and only one man can stop it. | Akpakhae is the most feared and formidable trainee in Big Canyon's clan of the Viachi. But during one of the final tests that will make him Viachi, the tupalkhe bites off his sword hand. His lifelong dream is ended. His name is changed from Akpakhae: Mighty Sword, to Nakharru: Without A Sword Hand. But only now is he capable of learning what life is all about; and the reality is beyond his wildest dreams. |
| As swiftly as the German Blitzkreig, Rakham has fallen to an enemy that seems unbeatable. Her king is imprisoned, Her people are killed or exiled, and she groans under a reign of tyrany. Can a few hundred troops and a handful of subversives, exiles and children prevent the tyrant from extending his kingdom still further? | The mission is senseless. The mission is suicide. The mission is sabotaged when the promised messenger is replaced by a hostage, who attracts trouble like honey attracts bees. Can the two Caimen survive long enough to bring themselves and their hostage back to the sanctuary of Rukhara? And how do you return a hostage who doesn't want to go home? | She is the daughter of destiny, the hope of the world. But somebody wants her dead, the clan is dissolving in civil war, she's a piece of property in a Viachi Tribesman's household, and she can't seem to figure out what the rules are. |
